How the process looks like!
You have two options to receive a quote. Call 1 (267) 686-7524 or fill out a form on our website. Lego Transportation offers 7 days a week customer service. We are always open and available to take your call and to schedule your delivery.
For your convenience, you can schedule a shipment online or call 267-399-8500. The Customer Service representative will gather all necessary information regarding the vehicle relocation. Once we get your information you will receive a confirmation email.
The Customer Service representative will get in touch with the contact person at the pickup location prior to arriving. You can always count on Lego Transportation to be there on time and to notify you upfront about our arrival or departure.
The driver will make arrangements with the contact person at the delivery location prior to arriving. Delivery arrangements will be made 24 hrs in advance and several hours prior arrival.
How is the process of pick up & delivery work?
The information processing time takes up to 2 hrs. We work on the specific route and preferred time frame for the relocation to meet specific requirements of the customer and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act). Depending on the information provided and preferences we assign single driver or team driver. Lego Transportation Inc. transports vehicles nationwide though with prior notification we can provide better and more convenient schedule.
How soon I will be notified about the pick up?
Once we clarify all the details, our Customer Service Representative will notify on the pick-up 12-24 hr prior arrival. On the day of estimated pick up, you will be provided with 6 hr window of the pick up and notified 2 hr in advance. If due to unexpected circumstances you won’t be able to be present at the pick up location, please notify us ahead of time. Other than that we will consider it as inadmissible excuse thus extra charges be imposed. You should give us any update on the pick or deliver address immediately at the time of the reservation with Lego Transportation Inc. It is also worth mentioning that we have special form that you fill in when providing us the information about pick up&delivery location. It will help us to perform more efficiently and meet the specific requirements.
Is it door to door service?
We try to provide door to door services in 99% cases, we won’t be able to deliver door to door only when there are specific restrictions where customers reside, hard-to-access areas (overhanging trees, gravel roads, steep hills, cul-de-sacs) and at the areas where it is hard to maneuver and restrictions for suck kind of actions are applied.
How can I track the status of the relocation?
You can ask for specific updates that include notification by email, text messages and over the phone on a daily basis. We will contact you 24 hours ahead of the delivery time. So in order to provide the best service we need to have emergency contact information as well. As it sometimes happen customers may forget about the pick up and delivery dates or there may some emergencies occur. This is when emergency contact information works helping us to perform efficiently.
What should I tell about my vehicle?
It is very important that you give us full and correct information on the vehicle. As the suppression of the information on the vehicle may cause issues when transporting it and be subject to extra charges. The information should be such as but not limited to: inoperable/operable, oversized (longer than 16 feet, taller than 7 feet, has dual wheels, racks, somehow modified, stock etc.). If we are not advised of inoperable or oversized vehicle(s) prior to pick-up, all extra charges will be added as C.O.D. charges at the time of delivery, and may also result in the delay of the pick up. An additional fee of up to $200.00 will be added for inoperative & oversized vehicle(s). Brakes must be in good working condition. It is extremely important to provide the full information on the vehicles to be transported. It provides peace of mind for both you and us.
How do I prepare my vehicle?
1. Secure or remove any loose parts of the vehicle as we take no responsibility for already loose parts
2. Leave only about 1/4 of the gas as this may some additional weight (cars are driven when loading and unloading only)
3. In winter times especially, make sure that raditator has enough level of antifreeze
4. Double check the batter condition, if not please notify in advance
5. Deactivate any anti-theft alarms
6. Make sure your vehicle is clean enough for proper inspection
Do you offer express delivery?
If it is a regular route we follow (regular routes can be found on our website) we GUARANTEE THE SAME DAY PICK UP or if otherwise preferred by the customer. The expedited pick up service is available in other states with advance notice. This service can be arranged for your convenience in most pick up areas but extremely remote and hard-to-access areas. The more notice we have the better. FMCSA only allows our drivers to drive limited amount of hours per day unless we assign the team of drivers. Express delivery option is also subject to transportation circumstances (roads are closed due to construction, natural disasters, technical issues). Other than that the express delivery (short distance relocation: 2-4 & long distance relocation: 3-5 days).
Is my vehicle insured? if so what is included?
Yes, each vehicle is insured up to $300,000.00. It is also worth mentioning we do not bear any responsibility for personal items. Items inside the vehicle: personal belongings, furniture or any house hold goods are not covered. It is important that customer needs to maintain their primary insurance taking into account the fact that we are only allowed TO LOAD and UNLOAD the vehicle. According to the FMCSA regulations, carriers are not allowed to relocate personal belongings at all. First, it may cause damages inside the vehicle, like broken or scratched windows, torn seats and lost items. Second, sometimes customers overload the vehicles that may cause OVERWEIGHT issues that negatively impact on the ratings of carries. And once again, CARRIERS bear responsibility for the safety and relocation of the vehicles not the items inside the vehicles. Your vehicle will be insured against in-transit damage caused by carrier negligence or equipment failure by the transporters. The contract or bill of lading will explain this in detail.
How can I make a payment?
Payments for transport can be made in advance by using Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Credit card information must be collected before shipment. Once we receive the payment, the credit information is erased automatically.
What if I cancel the relocation?
If we assign your vehicle for pick up and you cancel the order, you will owe $150. This will pay for fuel and the time our trucks use in heading to your location. In transportation it is called DRY RUN.
How is the cost of transportation calculated?
The cost of transporting an automobile depends on a couple of factors:
1. The distance involved (from where to where?).
2. What type of car you want transported (SUV’s are bigger and heavier, so they cost more to transport).
3. It is also worth mentioning that specific discounts may apply such as senior, veteran, student and business.
How quick the transportation can be?
Law only allows our drivers to drive limited hours per day unless we assign the team of drivers. They must have at least one day off per week, known as down time, to rest. Therefore, transit times are based on working or calendar days.
